A few months ago Ryan Gosling was suggesting he was planning to take a break from acting. But he’s not stopped lining films up, as THR reports that he is in negotiations to star in and produce a biopic of legendary director and choreographer Busby Berkeley.
There’s also a chance it will be his second directorial outing, following the upcoming How To Catch A Monster.
The movie will be based on Jeffrey Spivak’s book, ‘Buzz: The Life and Art of Busby Berkeley’, which tells the story of how the filmmaker revolutionized the musical and changed the world of choreography. He pioneered many conventions still in use today, and became well-know for his ability to use both the camera and dancer to create complex and beautiful formations.
Assuming he sign on, Gosling will work alongside producer with Marc Platt, who has plenty of musical experience, having produced the stage musical Wicked and the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods.
