Seth Rogen must be pining for the days of 50/50, as a couple of weeks ago it was revealed he was planning to reteam with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Jonathan Levine for a currently untitled Christmassy comedy. Now he’s going to produce an movie adaptation of the documentary Brooklyn Castle, which also has Jonathan Levine attached to direct, according to Deadline.
They’re also bringing back 50/50 screenwriter Will Reiser, who is writing the script based on Katie Dellamaggiore’s 2012 doc. That film is about a team of chess champions who hail from an inner-city Brooklyn school. However budget cuts threaten to take the team away from these gifted students, for whom chess has become more important than just being a game.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are producing, and they’re going to be really busy as it’s also been revealed recently they’re planning to direct an adaptation of the book Console Wars, about the battle between Nintendo and Sega in the 1990s.
