After a lot of buzz and interest, it’s not too long now until audiences will get to take a look at Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, with the release of Part 1 of the two part film. While most people have concentrated on the success, the largely positive reviews have suggested there’s more to the movie than that, and this trailer gives us a feel for that, as it certainly doesn’t bother with any of the hardcore shots the movie contains.
Heres the synopsis: The film is a wild and poetic story of a womans erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg). On a cold winters evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgard), finds Joe beaten up in an alley. He brings her home to his flat where he cares for her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi-faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Connie Neilsen and Stacy Martin also star. It should arrive in the UK in March.
