Kate Winslet may have missed out on an Oscar nomination for Labor Day (although she got a Golden Globe nod), but she’s still hot property, and may find a whole new fanbase if the movie version of Divergent is as popular as some expect when it’s released in March.
While she’s likely to be shooting the Divergent sequel, Insurgent, later this year, she’s also lined up another role, as Variety reports she’ll star in John Hillcoat’s (Lawless, The Proposition) Triple Nine. She joins the previously cast Casey Affleck and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The movie is about a group of criminals who plan on murdering an LAPD cop (Casey Affleck), as they think this will divert attention away from the massive heist they are planning on the other side of town. Ejiofor will be the criminal mastermind behind the whole operation. It’s not clear who Winslet will play.
‘Triple nine’ is police code for when an officer needs immediate assistance.
