Justin Lin has mainly worked with Universal on the Fast & Furious franchise and also has a first-look deal there. However he’s stretching his wings as Fox has picked up the rights to the live-action family adventure Toymageddon for Lin to produce, according to THR.
Not much is known about the plot, although the title alone should give you an idea. All that is known is that the project is based on a original idea by producer Tariq Merhab. It will be set in a chaotic toy factory. It’s being described as a live-action family adventure movie in the same vein as Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters.
The studio is current looking for someone to pen the script. Anonymous Content’s Michael Sugar, Bard Dorros and Tariq Merhab will also produce.
Lin might also direct, although that will depend on the script.
