A couple of months ago it was revealed that Quentin Tarantino was planning to stay in the western genre for his next movie, and now we know what it’s probably going to be called. Deadline reports the director has finished the first draft of his latest screenplay, which is is currently known as The Hateful Eight.
There are no story details have been revealed at this time, but it’s being suggest we may be getting an old man version of the The Magnificent Seven, although presumably with a Tarantino spin.
Quentin is now looking for the two main leads, with Christoph Waltz and Bruce Dern apparently being sought out for the roles. Both appeared in in Django Unchained (Dern in a very small role), but it’s not known if they’ll be interested in this one.
Tarantino is apparently trying to woo the actors by showing them the screenplay, as well as other undisclosed individuals he may be interested in working with. He will gather their feedback, and then continue working on the script. It doesn’t appear he knows exactly when he’ll be finished at the moment or when it will shoot.
