A few days ago it was revealed that Jason Clarke is in talks to play John Connor in Terminator: Genesis. Now it’s been revealed that the film has found his mother in the form of Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (and yes, she is 20 years younger than her on-screen son), according Deadline.
Clarke beat out Brie Larson, who was the other top contender for the role. No story details have been revealed yet, although there’s certainly going to have to be some time-travelling involved, with the suggestion the movie will involve Sarah at a time shortly before the first of the Terminator movies, and that this time she may be travelling to the future to meet her son in the form of Jason Clarke.
The movie is also seeking an actor to play Kyle Reese, John Connor’s father, who was portrayed by Michael Biehn in The Terminator.
Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) is directing from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. It isn’t known when filming will begin.
