The remake train continues to roll on with the news that MGM is once again reaching into their vaults to remake the cult classic, Road House. THR reports that The Fast and the Furious and xXx director Rob Cohen is set to helm the film.
The original 1989 movie follows Dalton (Patrick Swayze), a tough bouncer with a mysterious past who is called upon to tame and protect a dirty Missouri bar. However, he becomes the target of rich town bully Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), which leads to one of the more epic 80s showdowns in action movie history.
It’s a bit of an over the top movie, but that’s what has made it a cult classic. There’s no news on whether the remake plans to tone things down or go even more extreme. Probably the latter given Cohen’s track records.
