There seems to have been a big increase in interest in videogame adaptations in Hollywood in the last 12 months, despite the fact few of them have ever found success at the box office. Now another one is the works, Temple Run, and it’s got Harry Potter’s David Heyman attached to produce, according to Variety.
The game is, about a player who gets chased by ‘demonic monkeys after stealing an idol from a temple.’ Although that doesn’t immediately sound made for cinema, Warner Bros. obviously sees brand recognition possibility, as the mobile game has been downloaded over 100 million times and has spawned successful merchandise such as physical board games and strategy guides.
Now writer or director is attached as yet.
