The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah is expected in the next day or so, but ahead of that comes the poster, which suggests the world is not going to do very well in the movie. But then, a Noah movie without a devastating kill-everybody-in-the-world flood wouldn’t be much of a Noah movie.
The film follows Noah (Russell Crowe), who lives on a vast plain of volcanic ash in the lee of a volcanic glacier (the movies being shot in Iceland) and has to trek up a mountain every day to get to work. He is told by God to build an enormous vessel to house both his family and the animals of the world to preserve them from a flood that promises to wipe out a sin-filled world.
Although the plot remains the same, Aronofsky has promised a unique vision, which we’ll hopefully get a look at in the trailer, including the fact Noah’s animals will be tweaked versions that aren’t immediately recognisable. Its currently due for release on March 28th, 2014.
