Last week it seemed like in-fighting over money might kill the planned film version of Entourage, with producer Mark Wahlberg branding certain cast members as greedy. Then Adrian Grenier wrote a defence saying everyone should get a good deal if they’re going to make the film.
However it now appears that was all part of the tactics for the different sides to agree to terms and sign on the dotted line, as Entourage creator Doug Ellin revealed through his Twitter account that Warner Bros. has finally given the green light for the highly-anticipated movie.
The main problem with getting the cast to sign was apparently that Jeremy Piven closed a deal in August that gave him profit participation points. That wasn’t offered to Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Kevin Connolly, so they decided to hold out out for a share of the back end as well. Those issues now seem to have been sorted out.
Filming is slated to begin sometime in January, when Jeremy Piven is on hiatus from his British TV series Mr. Selfridge.
