After the failure of After Earth, Will Smith’s long reign as a box office titan has been starting to look shaky. However he’s hoping to get back on top with 20th Century Fox’s supernatural thriller, Selling Time. The actor was actually attached to the project years ago when it was first in development, although he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Now he’s back in, according to TheWrap.
The film is about a man who is offered the chance to relive the worst day he has ever had, in order to try and make it bettwe. However, in exchange, he has to give up seven years of his future life.
Several top directors are reportedly circling the project, although no one has signed on yet. Dan McDermott (Eagle Eye) wrote the original script, which was also worked on by Spike Lee, Steven Martini and Derick Martini. It’s not known when it might shoot.
