A couple of day ago we reported that Rose Byrne is in talks to reunites with her Bridemaids cohorts Melissa McCarthy and director Paul Feig for the spy comedy, Susan Cooper. Now another name is in the mix, as Jason Statham is set to enter talks for the movie, according to Deadline.
The movie is about an unlikely female secret agent, played by Melissa McCarthy. If a deal comes together, Statham will play a spy on the same side as the title character. There’s not a huge amount more info than that, although it’s previously been said that the film was inspired by the grittiness of Casino Royale, even if it gives a more comedic spin to thing.
Paul Feig is directing from his own original screenplay. Shooting it expected to start next spring, one McCarthy has completed the latest season of Mike & Molly.
