A couple of months ago Warner Bros. decided that although their animated The Lego Movie doesn’t arrive in cinemas until next February, they were going to move forward with another Lego project, this one based on the popular Ninjago line.
Now that film has found a director, as THR reports that Warner has hired Charlie Bean, who directed Disney animated series Tron: Uprising, to make the movie.
Dan Hageman and Hageman, who received a ‘story by’ credit on The Lego Movie have been set to write Ninjago, with Dan Lin and Roy Lee producing alongside Lego Movie directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
Ninjango has already spawned the Cartoon Network series, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (which the Hageman’s also wrote for), but this will show the Samurai inspired figures on a larger scale.
The film will mark Bean’s movie directing debut.
