The cast of The Fault in Our Stars continues to grow with actor Ansel Elgort revealing on his Twitter page that Willem Dafoe has joined the cast as Dr. Peter Van Houten.
He said ‘ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Willem Dafoe will be gracing our presence playing Dr.Peter Van Houten in our #tfiosmovie . oh happy day!’
The story follows Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley), a teenager who joins a support group after being diagnosed with cancer. Hazel begins to fall for another cancer-stricken teenager Augustus (Ansel Elgort) from her group. Sam Trammell and Laura Dern are playing Hazel’s father and mother, with Nat Wolff playing Isaac, Augustus’ best friend.
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber wrote the screenplay, based on the novel by John Green. Josh Boone is directing, with production set to begin at the end of the year.
