When Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End was released, it was said Disney wanted to make a fifth film as soon as possible, but with the script taking longer than expected, Johnny Depp’s busy schedule and a change of director, it’s taken a while to get it ready.
However things are now moving forward with directors Joachim Rø and Espen Sandberg (the Oscar-winning duo behind the international thriller Kon-Tiki), and reports that it’s likely to start shooting early next year. A July 10th, 2015 release is already set.
However nobody has known what it was going to be called, but now the directors have let it slip in an interview with This Is Infamous. They told the site it will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. It its cue from the original Disneyland theme park attraction upon which it’s based, as Dead Men Tell No Tales has been the introduction on the Pirates ride at Disneyland since it first debuted in 1967.
There’s still no info on what the exact plot is though. The directors did, however, reveal that this latest chapter will serve as a stand-alone adventure while tying into the overall mythology of the franchise as it currently stands.
