It seems Matthew Vaughn is planning some unexpected cameos in his upcoming The Secret Service, with reports that Adele, David Beckham and Elton John possibly popping up opposite Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Samuel L. Jackson.
There’s no news on what Elton and Beckham might be doing in the movie, but Adele is apparently going to be one of the film’s villains. “Adele is exactly what Matthew is looking for… He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the films cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise, a source said. It’s not her first acting gig, as she had a cameo in Ugly Betty, but this will be her first film role.
Perhaps she can add an acting Oscar to the one she won for the theme song to Skyfall.
Colin Firth is set to play a veteran MI6 spy who takes his nephew Gary (Taron Egerton) under his wing. He hopes that mentoring the young man in the ways of covert affairs will put him on the straight and narrow. Matthew Vaughn is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jane Goldman, which is adapted from the comic book series created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Production is slated to begin sometime this autumn.
