After being in development for years, Anchorman 2 is now in the can and heading for a Christmas release. The likes of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate are all reprising their Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy roles, with Adam McKay directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ferrell.
The film takes place in the early 1980s, during the advent of the 24-hour news cycle. Needless to say, the Action 4 News team has trouble adapting to this news format. It also sees Ron heading off on a trip to New York.
Cameos from the likes of Harrison Ford, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Vince Vaughn and loads more are also promised to show up.
