A couple of weeks ago the long gestating remake of Poltergeist stepped up a gear when it was announced that Rosemarie Dewitt had signed up to star. Now she may have some company as TheWrap reports that Sam Rockwell is in early talks to join her.
Gil Kenan (Monster House) is set to direct, with Rockwell up to play the husband of Rosemarie DeWitt’s character, taking over the role played by Craig T. Nelson is the original. The movie is about the Bowen family, whose lives are turned upside down when paranormal forces begin to take hold of their youngest daughter, Madison. Sam Rockwell is reportedly weighing a number of offers, including a supporting role in Sony’s musical remake Annie, but it is believed that Poltergeist will be the actor’s next project assuming contract terms are sorted out.
The hope is to shoot the movie later this year for release in 2014.
