Comic-Con Posters: Godzilla Goes Mondo – Plus I Frankenstein, Carrie and Thor 2

16th July 2013 By Tim Isaac

With Comic-Con kicking off in just a couple of days, the movie studios are already trying to build the hype for their upcoming movies, which includes releasing a slew of posters for those film that will be filling the halls this weekend in San Diego. Now we have a rather cool trio of posters for the Aaron Eckhart movie I, Frankenstein, a banner for the remake of Carrie, a Thor: The Dark World concept art image, and as you can see above, a great new mondo poster for Godzilla.

The giant lizard film is expected to be one of the biggest movies at Comic-Con this weekend, with Warner promising a massive presentation and plenty of other things going on in relation to the film.

The movie, starring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Sally Hawkins and Juliette Binoche, is said to be closer to the tone of the Japanese originals than Roland Emmerich’s 1990s movie. The Gareth Edwards directed film hits cinemas May 16th 2014.

Take a look below for the other poster and images.

I, Frankenstein is based on Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel of the same name about Adam Frankenstein (Aaron Eckhart), the creation of Dr. Frankenstein, who is still alive centuries after his ‘birth’. Adam is hunted down by a clan of demons who want to learn Adam’s secret in order to reanimate deceased demons and start a new army. Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Bill Nighy and Aden Young also star. It’s due in cinemas next January.

Based on Stephen King’s debut novel, the remake of Carrie sees Chloe Moretz take over the title role of the girl on the edge of adolescence, whose problem with bullies and a terrifying mother become dangerous when she develops telekinetic powers. It’s due out in October.

Thor: The Dark World is, of course, the follow-up to Marvel’s Thor and The Avengers, with Chris Hemsworth back as the Norse god. This time he must prevent an ancient race, led by the vengeful Malekith, from plunging the universe back into darkness. It’s due in cinemas in November.
