Warner Bros’ animated The Lego Movie doesn’t arrive in cinemas until next February, but it seems they feel audiences will love the little yellow men on the big screen, as they’re already planning another Lego movie, this one based on the Ninjago range.
THR reports that Warner Bros has hired brothers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman to pen the screenplay. They also worked on The Lego Movie, so it seems the studio is hoping to keep a similar tone to that film. They also have Ninjago experience, as they’ve written for the Cartoon Network series, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
While the show has proved popular and has a decent fanbase, it’s believed this film will follow a different storyline and characters.
Of course, if The Lego Movie is a massive failure, this is probably the last we’ll hear of a Ninjago film, but Warner is going to get a screenplay ready in the hope it’ll be a hit.
