Ever since Bad Teacher was released there’s been talk of a sequel. Now Columbia Pictures is moving forward with the film and has revealed that Jake Kasdan will return to direct, from a script by Justin Malen.
The project is being developed for Cameron Diaz to star in, although as yet no deal is set with the actress (and probably won’t be until the script is ready.
2011’s Bad Teacher took $216 million at cinemas, which certainly ensured Sony wanted some more. Indeed, they’re already turning it into a TV series, which with air on next season and will star Ari Graynor.
Jake Kasdan is also in pre-production on Sony Pictures’ Sex Tape, which has Diaz set to star alongside Bad teacher co-star Jason Segel.
