Paul Thomas Anderson is hoping to start shooting Inherent Vice later this month, but at the moment he only has Benicio Del Toro and Joaquin Phoenix signed up to star. He’s busy trying to find others to join his film, and now TheWrap reports he may be joined by Owen Wilson.
Based on a novel by Thomas Pynchon, the film takes place in Los Angeles in 1970. The story follows pothead private investigator Doc Sportello (Phoenix), who begins investigating the disappearance of a young girl. Benicio Del Toro is set to play the P.I.’s attorney. It isn’t known what role Owen Wilson’s role is in talks for.
