Allison Williams has never been in a movie, but thanks to the success of TV’s Girls, she’s going to be able to make up for lost time, as Deadline reports that she is now the front runner for a role in the planned Fantastic Four reboot. No details were given, but it seems likely that she is in contention to play Sue Storm, aka. The Invisible Girl.
There is a note of caution though, as the film is still at an early stage, so the producers may change their mind about Williams, but she’s at the front of the pack at the moment.
Even if she doesn’t get that role, she’ll still be able to make her feature debut, as she has signed on to take the lead role in Rosaline for 20th Century Fox and producer Shawn Levy. Lily Collins and Deborah Ann Woll were previously attached to the film, but it seems they’ve moved on from the movie. Dave Franco is also set to star.
The story is adapted from Rebecca Serle’s novel, which tells a revisionist parallel tale to Romeo & Juliet. Rosaline doesn’t actually appear in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, but she is mentioned as the girl Romeo dated before he took up with Juliet. The new modern-day take tells the story through Rosaline’s eyes, as she watches the two doomed lovers enter into a suicide pact.
Fantastic Four comes to is currently set for release on March 6th, 2015, with Josh Trank directing. There’s no news on when we might see Rosaline.
