Prince Avalanche is the English-language adaptation the Icelandic comedy Either Way. It premiered at Sundance and recently screened at Tribeca, and now we get our first look with a trailer, featuring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘An odd couple of sorts, meditative and stern Alvin (Rudd) and his girlfriends brother, Lance (Hirsch), dopey and insecure, leave the city behind to spend the summer in solitude repainting traffic lines down the centre of a country highway ravaged by wildfire. As they sink into their job in the remarkable landscape, they learn more than they want to about each other and their own limitations. An unlikely friendship develops through humour and nasty exchanges, leading to surprising affection.’
David Gordon Green directs, getting back to his indie roots after the likes of Pineapple Express, Your Highness and The Sitter. It’ll be released in the US in August, but no UK date has been set yet.
