While it’s not unusual for a director to cast the same actor in several movies, it’s easy to forget that there are a lot more people on a set who famous faces work with, and if those crew members turn director, they may also want to work with those actors again.
That’s certainly true of Wally Pfister, who’s been the cinematographer on the likes of The Dark Knight movies. He’s already cast Batman star Morgan Freeman in his directorial debut, Transcendence, and now Latino Review reports that he’s also signed up Batman Begins actor Cillian Murphy.
There aren’t too many details about the movie, although it’s about Will (Johnny Depp), a scientist who uploads his brain into a supercomputer to create artificial intelligence. Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall and Kate Mara also star. There’s no news on who Murphy will play.
Jack Paglen wrote the script, with shooting due to kick off in the next couple of months.
