The Amazing Spider-man 2 may have already started shooting, but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped hearing about new additions to the cast, as THR reports that Chris Cooper has signed on to portray Norman Osborn in the movie.
While we knew that Oscorp would feature in director Marc Webb’s sequel, Norman Osborn’s casting hasn’t been confirmed until now. Dane DeHaan is playing Norman’s son Harry Osborn.
It isn’t known at this time if Norman will transform into The Green Goblin in this sequel, or if they are holding off on using that villain for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 – the THR report does specifically mention Green Goblin, but it’s unlikely he’s a main bad bad guy in this film, although it’s possible his transformation will be in the film.
Marc Webb is directing from a screenplay by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeff Pinkner. Production is currently under way in New York City.
