A remake of The Crow has been in the works for years, with the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum all talked about to star at various points. However we haven’t heard much about it for the last few months, but the project isn’t dead, as Bloody Disgusting says that James McAvoy is now circling the movie.
He would play Eric Draven, a rock star who is brutally murdered along with his fiancee. He then comes back to life to avenge his and his fiancee’s murder, so their souls can finally rest in peace. Brandon Lee portrayed the iconic character in the original 1994 movie The Crow.
F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before The Fall) is set to direct from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow. It isn’t known when production may begin (If McAvoy does sign on at the very earliest it would be after he finishes X-Men: Days Of Future Past).
