While we’ve heard about numerous candidates for the lead role of Peter Quill in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, now Latino Review suggests the comic book company is looking at comedians Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for roles in the movie. It isn’t clear what parts they are being eyed for, although it’s been suggested they may be being sought to voice CG characters such as Rocket Raccoon and Groot.
Actors Wes Bentley, Cam Gigandet, and Chris Lowell have also recently tested for the Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord) role in this superhero adventure. Last month, we reported that Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi were the finalists for the Star-Lord lead role. Since then, though, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Rosenbaum have also tested for the part, there’s bee no news on whether any of them have actually scored the part.
James Gunn is directing from his own screenplay. Shooting will begin this summer at London’s Shepperton Studios.
