Chloe Moretz is in talks to take the lead role in Summit Entertainment’s upcoming supernatural drama If I Stay. Variety also reports that documentary helmer R.J. Cutler is looking to direct the movie, which is based on Gayle Formans romantic novel.
Assuming she signs on, the young Kick-Ass and Dark Shadows star will play classical music prodigy Mia who, after a fatal car crash on a snowy road in Oregon, finds herself drifting between life and death. She must make a decision whether to give in and die or try to fight her way back to life.
R.J. Cutler, who’s best known for the documentaries The September Issue and The World According to Dick Cheney, will make his fiction feature debut. He takes over the reins from Catherine Hardwicke, who was previously attached to helm.
