A couple of years ago Annapurna Pictures paid a pretty penny for the writes to the Terminator franchise, but there’s a bit of a clock on it, as in a few years time many of the rights will go back to James Cameron.
They have managed to attach Arnie to a new movie, and now they’re trying to push forward by hiring Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier to write the screenplay for Terminator 5.
Laeta Kalogridis is best known for writing the Martin Scorsese-directed adaptation Shutter Island. She also worked on the Avatar script with James Cameron, and produced the upcoming White House Down. Patrick Lussier most recently directed Drive Angry and My Bloody Valentine 3D.
At the moment the project does not have a director yet, as Justin Lin bowed out in September 2011. There’s no info on the plot either. (Source: Deadline)
