A couple of weeks ago it was revealed that Hugh Jackman was in talks to play Wolverine once more in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Now it’s been confirmed that he will indeed be part of the movie, with director Bryan Singer tweeting, ‘I would officially like to welcome @realhughjackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited!More to come…’
As Days Of Future Past is a time-travel tale and Wolverine doesn’t age very much, Jackman could appear in either the past or future sections of the plot, or indeed both. The plot sees the younger Professor X, Magneto and other mutants having to time-travel in order to prevent a terrible future from occuring. This means that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will get to interact with their older counterparts, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
Hugh Jackman is also playing the mutant in James Mangold’s The Wolverine. The film tells the story of Logan’s samurai training in Japan. It will hit theaters July 26th, 2013. X-Men: Days Of Future Past meanwhile hits cinemas in 2014.
