While some people are still grumbling about the idea of Pixar making sequels, it worked extremely well with Toy Story 2 &3, and to be honest there’s no reason we shouldn’t expect Monsters University to be another delighful trip into the world Mike & Sulley.
It’s also been good news that it’ll be a prequel, ensuring Pixar isn’t just covering old ground with a plot that’s the same as the first movie. Now two preview posters for the film have arrived, via ComingSoon, with the international one above and that US poster below. They’re both good, although I’d say the international one is the best of the two.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasnt always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
‘Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars, “Mater and the Ghostlight, “Tracy) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up, “The Incredibles, “Monsters, Inc.). The film opens in UK cinemas summer, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters.’
The film is currently due for UK release on July 12th, 2013, with a 3D version of Monster’s Inc. arriving January 18th.
