David S. Goyer and Lorenzo di Bonaventura have devided to team up to produce an adaptation of Patrick Lee’s doomsday novel The Breach, according to Variety. David S. Goyer, who’s best known for writing the likes of the Dark Knight movie and Man Of Steel, may direct as well, although nothing is set in stone yet.
Justin Rhodes is set to write the adapted screenplay, which will apparently divert heavily from the novel. The book is about an ex-cop caught in a race against time to stop an ancient artifact from bringing on the apocalypse. No details were given regarding how the adaptation may differ from the source material.
While Goyer has mainly produced and written screenplays in recent years, he has also directed thrillers such as The Unborn, The Invisible, and Blade: Trinity, and it’s known he has been looking for new directing projects. It isn’t known when The Breach may go into production.
