Tim Robbins hasn’t directed a movie since Cradle Will Rock in 1999, but he’s now planning to step back behind the camera, and plans are advanced enough that he’s started building the cast. Robbins is set to both helm and star in the family drama Man Under, with Michelle Pfeiffer and Chloe Moretz also onboard.
Variety reports that the movie follows a family from Yonkers that see their lives “changed forever when a photo of them ends up in the Museum of Modern Art.” The script was written by Ann Cherkis, whose only previously produced credit is the 2007 film The Secret, which starred David Duchovny and Lili Taylor.
Back in August it was reported that Robbins had also signed up to direct City Of Lies, but apparently the script for that still needs work and so he’s hoping to slot in Man Under first.
