Neither Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy, house), or Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), have quite lived up to their promise yet, but now they’re teaming up for a new movie called The Keeping Room, which is set to be directed by Daniel Barber. Nicole Beharie (Shame, 42) is also set to star, according to THR.
The film, written by Julia Hart, tells the story of three Southern women – two sisters and one African American slave – who are left without men in the dying days of the Civil War. They are forced to defend their home from the onslaught of a band of soldiers who have broken off from the fast approaching Union Army.
Daniel Barber commented, “I am thrilled to be working with these three fantastic actors, and very excited to be directing this great script.”
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in March in North Carolina.
