Working Title Films and Universal have announced that shooting has begun on The World’s End, the final part of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which started with Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz. And with news that cameras have started rolling comes the info that Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast.
They’ll star alongside the previously announced Pegg, Frost, Paddy Considine and Rosamund Pike. In The Worlds End, 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub The Worlds End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankinds. Reaching The Worlds End is the least of their worries.
The film will hit cinemas next year.
