At some point in their career, every well-known actor has to give directing a go, and now it’s Renee Zellweger’s turn. She’ll take the reigns for 4 1/2 Minutes, and will also star alongside Johnny Knoxville in this comedy, which is based based on the life of stand up comedian Dov Davidoff.
The story centres on a comic named Jimmy Bennett (Johnny Knoxville), whose life is falling apart due to his commitment issues. He takes a job looking after the brilliant young son of single mother P.J. Andersen (Renée Zellweger).
Anthony Tambakis (Warrior) wrote the screenplay, with Dov Davidoff receiving a story credit. Shooting is scheduled to begin this coming February in New York City. (Source: THR)
