Charlie Sheen has used the break between Three And A Half Men and Arrested Development (and we assure you, absolutely nothing of interest happened involving Sheen between those shows) to head back to the movies for a bit, playing the title character in Rom Coppola’s wordily titles A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.
The movie also features Bill Murray, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Patricia Arquette, Aubrey Plaza, and Jason Schwartzman, and is set in a world likes ours but slightl different, following the unraveling of Charlie Swan’s mind after his girlfriend dumps him. Now the first images from the movie have arrived via EW, which also has an article about the movie that’s worth a read.
Coppola says about the hiring of Sheen, “Charlie is so perfect for the role, but hes not perfect because of the public profile weve seen in the news. Hes incredibly talented as an actor, he has tons of charisma, hes very witty. Hes very funny and charming. You can use your charm sometimes as a problem solver and my character, thats what hes been doing. Hes been sliding through on life, using his charm and wit and charisma to get past some problems. But the problems are still there, and thats the story of the movie On the surface you could make a lot of parallels, but when you see it youll appreciate this character is one we invented together, and he as a performer drew from whatever talents and inclinations he has.”
The movie should be out early next year.
