Marianne Jean-Baptiste is a great actress, although it’s a bit of a shame she only ever seems to get supporting roles – even in TV’s Without A Trace her main job was to essentially be a kind of on-screen narrator. She’s continuing her supporting career with a part in José Padilha’s remake of the classic action film RoboCop.
The actress will play Detroit Police Chief, Karen Dean. The project has Joel Kinnaman playing the cop who gets turned in cyborg, alongside Jackie Earle Haley, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Abbie Cornish and Samuel L. Jackson.
José Padilha is helming from a script provided by Joshua Zetumer. Production will begin in Toronto next month. (Source: Variety)
