A couple of months ago, Marvel announced that they signed Casino Royale’s Mads Mikkelsen to play the villain on Thor 2. However now it’s been revealed the studio will have to find a new bad guy for the movie, as Mads Mikkelsen has revealed that he won’t star in this follow-up to Thor due to his commitment to the NBC pilot Hannibal.
In a recent interview with Zoomin Movies, he said, “Yeah, that’s not happening unfortunately. I had a meeting with them, but they were a little too late. And then Hannibal came in, and everything just came in the same period, so now it’s not happening.”
This is the second project in as many days to encounter a stumbling block because of Hannibal. Director David Slade was forced to bow out of 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil reboot as he is directing the NBC pilot.
