Matthew Vaughn is currently busy putting together the sequel to X-Men: First Class, which is set to shoot this winter, but he’s also busy looking at potential future projects, as Deadline reports that he’s optioned Max Barry new novel, Lexicon, which isn’t even due to be published until next year.
According to Deadline, in Lexicon, ‘the setting is contemporary but in a world where words are potentially lethal weaponstools for persuading others to do what you wantwhich are wielded by members of a secret, ancient, global organization of people with an aptitude for persuasion in general. Their most gifted and troubled member, a young woman, breaks the societys primary rule and falls in love.’
It’s early days though as the book isn’t ready and no screenwriter has been assigned.
