Orlando Bloom hasn’t really been up to much lately – or at least nothing particularly high profile – but he’s now scored a new job taking one of the lead roles in Zulu, opposite the always excellent Djimon Hounsou.
You’ll be pleased to hear the film isn’t a remake of Michael Caine’s excellent Rourke’s Drift movie, and instead is a contemporary cop drama from director Jérôme Salle (Largo Winch, Anthony Zimmer). The two actors will play Cape Town police officers who investigate the murder of a 18 year-old girl, the daughter of a member of the championship winning Springboks rugby team, a job that ultimately reveals ties to the country’s apartheid past.
The film is based on an acclaimed novel by Caryl Férey and is due to start shotting in South Africa this July. (Source: Screendaily)
