Amy Adams is looking to get a behind-the-scene credit, as THR reports that she has signed on to both star in and produce An Object of Beauty, an adaptation of actor Steve Martin’s 2010 novel.
The story centres on Amy Adams’ character, an entrepreneur who scours the globe looking for pieces of artwork, and becomes romantically involved with several different men, one of whom is a famous artist. It’s early days though as no screenwriter or director are attached yet.
Here’s what fellow producer Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray had to say below in a joint statement: “We couldn’t be happier to be working with the brilliant Amy Adams on this adaptation of Steve Martin’s smart novel. This project continues on Maven’s mission of making films that highlight strong female characters and talent.”
This will be Steve Martin’s second novel to be adapted for the silver screen, after 2005’s Shopgirl.
