After years having trouble getting the movie together at all, a fine cast is finally emerging for Neighborhood Watch as it gears up to shoot in the next couple of months. The latest to get into talks to join the sci-fi comedy is Watchmen star Billy Crudup, according to THR.
The movie is about a group of suburban fathers led by Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, who form a Neighborhood Watch group to get away from their families. They get in way over their heads when the group uncovers a nefarious plot to destroy the world. Billy Crudup will portray the local weirdo in the movie. Rosemarie DeWitt, Jonah Hill, Nicholas Braun, Richard Ayoade, and Will Forte also star in Neighborhood Watch.
Akiva Schaffer is directing Neighborhood Watch from a screenplay by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (or at least they wrote the version that will finally get on screen).
