Woody Harrelson is pretty much guaranteed to make any film a little bit jollier, so it’s good news that Clash Of The Titans director Louis Leterrier has hired him to take a role in his slightly nutty-sounding magical thriller, Now You See Me.
The movie is about a group of elite magicians called The Four Horsemen, who pull off elaborate bank robberies during their performances, showering the proceeds on the audience. Unsurprisingly this gains the attention of the FBI who want to take down the thieving illusionists. According to Variety, Harrelson will be ‘Merritt Osbourne, a mentalist and hypnotist known for his Jedi-style mind tricks. He used to perform overseas for the Queen of England, but a bloody incident forces him to flee to Vegas where he joins the Four Horsemen’ (so does that suggest Woody will be channelling Derren Brown for this one).
Mark Ruffalo is already onboard to play the top FBI agent handling the case, while Jesse Eisenberg will be the arrogant leader of the magicians. Isla Fisher will portray Henley, a technical expert who builds several special devices to help the illusionists pull off the heists. Now we just need to know who the other two horsemen will be, before shooting starts later this year.
