Devil’s Double may have flopped at the cinemas, but it appears it’s landed actor Dominic Cooper a high profile role, as he is in talks to star in Motor City for Warner Bros. and director Albert Hughes.
Back in August Cooper’s Captain America co-star, Chris Evans, was offered the lead role, but it seems a deal was never made. Then, after producer Joel Silver was impressed with Dominic Cooper’s performance in Devil’s Double, he reached out to the actor for Motor City.
The film is about an ex-con who is hellbent on tracking down the men who framed him. That may be an incredibly generic plot description but the key to Motor City is that the entire movie only has a single line of dialogue. The screenplay was written by Chad St. John, and made the coveted Black List in 2009.
It’s been difficult with Cooper to tell whether he’d ever really break into the big time or just be a supporting player, but perhaps this role will be the one that decides that for us. (Source: Variety)
