To be honest, Jeremy Renner probably already has enough movies on his plate, but he’s decided to add another, as Deadline reports that he’ll take the lead role in 19th Century heist film, King of Heists.
Based on J. North Conway’s book, Renner will play George Leslie, a mild-mannered architect and ladies’ man who quietly assembled a crew and pulled off an audacious $3 million heist from the Manhattan Savings Institution in 1878. It’s considered by some to be the greatest bank robbery in American history, with the perpetrators getting away with the equivalent of $50 million in modern money.
It’s not known when Renner might shoot the movie though (he’s also producing it), as he’s also got films like The Bourne Legacy, Slingshot, and Low Life in development, and there’ll also be promotional duties for Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and The Avengers, which he already has in the can.
