Actor Jason Bateman has been flirting with the studios recently in movies like Horrible Bosses and The Change-Up, but now it looks like he wants to go back to his indie roots for a bit, signing up for Disconnect and The Longest Week, according to Variety.
Disconnect is set to star Alexander Skarsgard, Frank Grillo, Colin Ford, Michael Nyqvist, and John Sharian, who all portray characters affected by the internet and modern communications in various serious, life-changing ways. Jason Bateman will plays the father of Colin Ford, although there’s not much more info on his character than that. Henry Alex Rubin is set to direct.
The Longest Week meanwhile centres on Jason Bateman’s character, who spends a week in his parents’ luxury Manhattan hotel, creating chaos in his life in the process. Olivia Wilde is also set to star (is there any movie that woman isn’t planning to be in?). Peter Glanz will direct from his own screenplay.
It appears Bateman’s planning on having a busy autumn, as he’s likely to shoot both projects back-to-back in October and November.
