The Inbetweeners Movie has stunned many by not just being a success at the UK box office, but setting new records, spending four weeks on top of the charts and becoming one of the biggest independently produced British movie ever. It’s gross currently stands at around £40 million, a stunning achievement for a film few had many expectations for.
It’s also ensured that there’s far more interest in whatever the creators of The Inbetweeners come up with next. Producing/writer duo Damon Beesley and Iain Morris created the series and wrote the movie version, and now Variety reports that it’s been revealed at the Toronto Film Festival what they’ll be up to next.
They’ve penned the first draft of a movie called Mortal, a comedy about two brothers and their friends who travel off the coast of northern Scotland to spread the ashes of their father. So not too far from The Inbetweeners, but perhaps with a little more gravitas under the surface.
Morris and Beesley were in Toronto for a screening of The Intbetweeners Movie, and it’d be fascinating to know what the Canadian audience made of the boy’s holiday.
